Hopi, spoken by the Hopi people, is a Uto-Aztecan language. The Hopi people are a Pueblo group of Native Americans primarily located in Northeastern Arizona in the United States. The use of the Hopi language has experienced gradual decline throughout the 20th century and as of 1990 and estimated 5,000 still spoke Hope. The Hopi people are teaching their children the language in hopes that it will be passed down to future generations. A comprehensive Hopi-English dictionary has been published by the Hopi Literacy Project and focuses on promoting the language. Baby Name World curates a growing list of Native American and Hopi baby names and name meanings for posterity and your enjoyment.
